Where downtown hotels sit
The five properties on this page all have South Coast Highway addresses. The Village is the downtown core north of Anita Street, and the HIP District continues south from Anita Street to Bluebird Canyon, the same boundaries the Eat & drink pages use. The cards above list each property by its own description. This page adds the layout of the street. Read the Village page for the neighborhood itself.
South Coast Highway, the 700 and 800 blocks
Two hotels from the same company stand a short walk apart here. SCP Seven4One is built around an open-air atrium and a rooftop deck. Laguna Surf Lodge sits on the sand, and Seven4One’s site says its guests can use the Lodge’s beach, pool and fire pits. Laguna Surf Lodge’s site also mentions the Thalia Street surf break nearby; the Thalia Street Beach page covers that stretch of coast.
South Coast Highway, 1289 to 1555
South of Anita Street the highway runs along bluffs, and the hotels sit on the ocean side. La Casa del Camino, at 1289, is steps from Cress Street Beach. Its Rooftop Lounge also appears among the HIP District restaurants. Capri Laguna, at 1441, sits on Bluebird Beach. Surf & Sand, at 1555, stands just north of Bluebird Canyon Drive, where the HIP District ends, and it lists a restaurant, a spa and a pool of its own.
Getting around without a car
The city’s free Coastal Route trolley runs along Coast Highway, where all five properties sit. In the non-summer season, from September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027, the city lists a trolley every 20 to 30 minutes. Check the city’s trolley page for the summer service, which differs. Capri Laguna’s own FAQ describes the walk to downtown as ten to fifteen minutes. Each hotel’s site has its own parking information. The Getting around guide covers the trolley and the on-demand Laguna Local service. The Parking guide covers the city lots and meters downtown.
Beaches, art and meals nearby
- Beaches: Main Beach is the largest beach in town, where Broadway and Ocean Avenue meet Coast Highway. Visit Laguna Beach describes beaches at the end of every street in the HIP District; see Anita Street and Cress Street.
- Art: On first Thursdays the Art Walk keeps galleries open along Coast Highway, and the shopping page covers the Village and the HIP District.
- Sunsets: The sunset spots guide lists the bluffs and beaches that face west.
- Meals: Downtown restaurants are grouped by street, and oceanfront restaurants lists places with a water view.
How to use this list
The list runs north to south by street number. It is not a ranking, and it holds only properties whose own sites state that they are in Laguna Beach. Each card links to the property’s own site for rooms and booking. For other kinds of stay, see oceanfront hotels, and for the same list north and south of downtown, see North Laguna and South Laguna.
