What a stay in North Laguna looks like

Casa Loma lists 70 rooms and suites, Hotel Joaquin 22 rooms and The Tides 21. All six places here sit on North Coast Highway, and the coves lie off Cliff Drive on the ocean side: Crescent Bay has a ramp to the cove beach from Cliff Drive, according to the Coastal Commission’s access list, and Shaw’s Cove lies along the same bluff. From Main Beach to Crescent Bay

Casa Loma, at 211, sits at the south end on the clifftop, and its site says the Village shops, galleries and restaurants are a short walk. Going north, The Tides (460), Laguna Beach House (475) and Arabella Laguna Guest Cottages (506) sit within a few blocks of each other. The Tides and Laguna Beach House both say Main Beach and downtown are within walking distance. Hotel Joaquin, at 985, and Costa Art Hotel, at 1404, lie farther north. Costa Art Hotel’s site puts downtown about a mile away and Crescent Bay Beach a three-minute walk down the hill.

Arabella lists guest cottages and studio suites with kitchens. The other five are hotels or inns.

Getting around without a car

The city’s free Coastal Route trolley runs on Coast Highway from North Laguna/Heisler Park through downtown to South Laguna. From September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027 the city lists service every 20 to 30 minutes. That is the non-summer schedule; check the city’s trolley page for summer routes.
