Budget hotels in Laguna Beach

Rates on Laguna Beach's coast change by date and by hotel, and no page can promise a price. Five of these six small hotels and inns show something on their own site that affects the bill: a posted discount, a kitchenette, a parking-inclusive fee or no minimum stay. The sixth posts no offer.

What to expect from a lower-rate stay here

Prices are not printed on this page, because hotels change them by date and by room. What the hotels’ own sites do show is how they package a stay, and that is where the total can move.

Five of the six sites show at least one of the following: a discount, a kitchenette, a fee that bundles parking, or no minimum stay. Laguna Cove Hotel’s site shows none of these. Nothing here ranks the six by price. Open each booking calendar for your dates.

Where each hotel’s site points to savings

Woods Cove Inn. As of October 2026, its offers page lists one rate, “Plan Ahead & Save,” at up to 13 percent off for prepaid bookings made 14 days or more ahead. The page says the rate is prepaid and non-refundable.

Laguna Surf Lodge. As of October 2026, its offers page lists “Stay 2 Nights, Save 10%” and “Stay 3 Nights, Save 15%,” with a two-night minimum. The page says blackout dates and some restrictions may apply.

Casa Loma Beach Hotel. Its packages page names a “Park & Play” package built around guaranteed parking. The page shows no amounts or dates.

La Casa del Camino. As of October 2026, its home page lists a $30 resort fee that it says covers parking, internet and coffee. Its specials page said to check back for new offers.

Tides Laguna lists some rooms with furnished kitchenettes and no minimum stay. Laguna Cove Hotel posts no offer, so its rates come only from its booking page.

Offers change often. Treat anything above as what each site showed on October 28, 2026, and confirm it on the hotel’s page before you book.

Hotel tax and fees

The city’s municipal code sets the Transient Occupancy Tax at 12 percent of the room rent for guests staying 30 days or less. The city’s short-term lodging page adds a 2 percent Laguna Beach Tourism Marketing District assessment for short-term rentals, 14 percent together. Resort fees, parking and pet charges are separate. Ask whether a quoted rate includes them. Licensed rentals have their own rules on the vacation rentals page.

Off-season timing

The city runs its off-season trolley routes from September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027. The when to visit guide lays out the seasons, and the November page shows one fall month’s weather and events. Because hotels set rates by date, compare a summer weekend with an off-season weekday on the same booking calendar.

How to find a deal

  1. Open the hotel’s own offers or packages page, as above. Only offers posted there count.
  2. Compare the booking calendar for two or three date ranges.
  3. Ask what the quoted total includes: tax, resort fee and parking.
  4. Check the stay-length and prepay terms, and whether the rate refunds.

Camping and cottages nearby

Camping near Laguna Beach sits in state parks outside the city limits. The camping and Crystal Cove page covers Moro Campground, the Crystal Cove cottages and Doheny State Beach, and what each park’s own site says. State Parks reported on October 15, 2026 that parts of Crystal Cove State Park, including part of the Historic District beach, remained closed after storm damage, so check the park’s page before booking.

Getting around

The parking guide and the getting around guide cover lots, permits and the trolley. For things that cost nothing once you arrive, see the free things to do and casual eats. More small properties are on the inns and boutique hotels page.
