Golf inside Laguna Beach

The Ranch at Laguna Beach lists the golf course this guide covers inside the city. The course has nine holes and lies in Aliso Canyon at 31106 Coast Highway, in South Laguna. The resort’s site calls it GEO Certified, and it describes a layout with elevation changes on every fairway. It also lists three-club barefoot tournaments.

Tee times are booked online through the golf page. The course lists a pro shop, TaylorMade club rentals, Club Car Tempo carts with GPS, and a patio restaurant and bar. Valet parking is mandatory. The golf pages do not post par, yardage, hours or green fees, and they do not say whether you need to be a guest to book. Call 888.316.0959 and ask.

The Barefoot Club

The Ranch’s play program is the Barefoot Club. Its site says the club is open to residents of Laguna Beach and Dana Point and to returning guests who played 24 or more rounds in the past calendar year. Members get discounted play rates, a 14-day advance booking window and 10% off non-golf retail items. People who meet neither test can join for an annual fee, which the site does not state. Courses outside the city

These courses lie in other cities. Each one’s own site states where it is.

Pelican Hill, Newport Beach

Pelican Hill Golf Club lists two courses at 22701 Pelican Hill Road South in Newport Coast, which its site places in Newport Beach. The Ocean North Course is par 71 at 6,945 yards, and the Ocean South Course is par 70 at 6,580 yards. The resort’s site says Tom Fazio designed both. It describes ocean views from every hole on the north course. A hotel update on the site says the resort “begins its Next Chapter enhancements November 2nd, 2026.” The golf pages do not say how that affects play, so check before you book. The golf page does not say who may book.

Monarch Beach Golf Links, Dana Point

Monarch Beach Golf Links is at 50 Monarch Beach Resort Drive North in Dana Point. Its site describes a par-70 championship resort course tied to the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club. The page states no hole count or prices and links to online tee-time booking.

San Clemente Municipal Golf Course, San Clemente

The City of San Clemente lists its municipal course at 150 Avenida Magdalena, San Clemente. The city’s page calls it an ocean view championship 18-hole golf course. It also lists event, wedding and banquet facilities. It posts no hours or rates.

What to do around a round

The Ranch’s site puts the course in Aliso Canyon. Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park is OC Parks’ wilderness park of about 4,500 acres, open 7 a.m. to sunset, and Aliso Beach is in the 31000 block of South Coast Highway, the same stretch as the Ranch’s address. Getting there

The city’s free Coastal Route trolley runs on Coast Highway between North Laguna, downtown, South Laguna and the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point. From September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027, it runs every 20 to 30 minutes, with shorter hours on weekdays than on Friday and Saturday evenings. Check the trolley map for the stop nearest the course.
