What the pool listings say
All twelve properties are in Laguna Beach and list a pool on their own sites. The cards give what each site says and stop there. If a site does not say whether its pool is heated, the card does not either. Each site posts its own rates and fees; this page shows none.
Heated, saltwater and beachfront pools
Four properties describe a heated pool: Casa Loma Beach Hotel, Costa Art Hotel, Hotel Joaquin and Surf & Sand Resort. Surf & Sand also calls its pool beachfront and lists a hot tub.
Three describe saltwater or saline pools: Tides Laguna, Woods Cove Inn and The Ranch at Laguna Beach. The Ranch lists its outdoor saline pool and hot tub among its resort highlights, and its Palapa Pool Bar is one of its dining venues.
Laguna Surf Lodge’s site places the hotel directly on the sand, with an outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. Its amenities page says no lifeguard is on duty at the pool.
Two pools at Montage
Montage Laguna Beach is the only property here that lists two pools. Its site says both have Pacific views. The Mosaic Pool has cabanas, a whirlpool and a children’s pool and play area, and the resort limits it to registered guests. The Spa Montage Pool is an adults-only lap pool, per the resort.
Who can use the pool
Pool access depends on the property. Casa Loma says pool and hot tub access is included in its nightly amenity fee. Surf & Sand says pool and beach access come with an overnight stay through the resort fee, and that a limited number of day passes for non-hotel guests are available through a partner. Laguna Surf Lodge says its pool and jacuzzi are open daily for hotel guests, and Montage limits its Mosaic Pool to registered guests. Capri Laguna, The Mara and the other properties give no access terms in the pages cited, so ask before you plan around a day visit.
Pools beside the ocean views
Some sites tie the pool to a view and some do not. Surf & Sand’s about page places oceanview lounge chairs at its pool. The Mara’s page names ocean views from its rooftop terrace, not its pool deck.
Getting around without a car
Most of these properties sit on Coast Highway, where the free Coastal Route trolley runs. Check what parking each hotel includes, and read the parking guide for the city’s lots and meters. The getting around guide covers the other options.
