Dog-friendly hotels in Laguna Beach

How to read these policies

Each card states the policy from the hotel’s own site, and the details differ. Some list a weight limit. Others limit the number of dogs, and a few do both. Fees are left off this page because they change, so check the pet page before you book. Hotel pages also list rules that do not fit on a card, such as whether a dog can stay alone in a room.

Three limits repeat. Casa Laguna, Casa Loma, Laguna Beach House and Surf & Sand each set 40 pounds as the cap (Surf & Sand applies it per dog). Laguna Surf Lodge and SCP Seven4One cap the number of dogs at two, and Tides Laguna the number of pets at two, but none of the three states an upper weight limit. Costa Art Hotel sets 40 pounds combined across the two dogs it allows.

Bigger dogs

La Casa del Camino’s page sets 50 pounds. Montage’s FAQ allows dogs and cats under 75 pounds, up to two per room. Laguna Surf Lodge, SCP Seven4One and Tides Laguna publish no upper weight limit on their pet pages, so ask them directly about a very large dog. Tides Laguna puts pets in first-floor rooms only.

One dog or two

Hotel Joaquin’s house rules allow one dog in a room, and the dog must weigh under 30 pounds. Most other properties here set a limit of two.

Not allowed

Two Laguna Beach properties that appear elsewhere in this section do not allow pets. The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s resort policies say pets are not allowed on property, and service animals are welcome. Arabella Laguna Guest Cottages’ FAQ answers no to pets.

Service animals

Costa Art Hotel says service animals are exempt from its limits. The Ranch’s policy welcomes service animals and defines them as dogs trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability. Ask any property about its service animal rules directly, because the wording differs.

Dogs outside the hotel

Montage’s FAQ says pets are welcome on its lawns when available, its beach paths and the park below the resort, on a leash. Getting around

A dog in the car changes the parking plan. Read the parking guide and the getting around guide before you arrive. Montage lists valet as its only on-site parking, so ask the front desk how that works with a dog.
