City courts at a glance
The City of Laguna Beach lists its public pickleball and tennis courts in two places: its Recreation Division publishes the pickleball locations and rules, and its facilities directory lists the tennis courts. The page below follows those pages as they stood on October 28, 2026. The city tells players to read the signs posted at each court, because the signs carry the most current open and closed play hours.

Alta Laguna Park
Alta Laguna Park has six pickleball courts. The facilities directory gives the park’s address as 3300 Alta Laguna Drive, while the pickleball page prints 3300 Alta Laguna Blvd. The city splits the day into open play from 8 a.m. to noon and closed play from noon to dusk, every day. Games go to 11 and must be won by two points. Court 3 is the challenge court, from 8 a.m. to dusk. The city says courts may close for cleaning on Monday mornings. The park’s four tennis courts are listed in the same directory entry. For the ridge itself, see Top of the World. The city also notes that the open space near the park closes at sunset.
Lang Park
Lang Park has three pickleball courts and a dual-line tennis court. The city’s hours:
- Monday: closed, including Monday holidays.
- Tuesday and Thursday: 8 a.m. to noon.
- Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: 8 a.m. to dusk.
- Sunday and holidays: 9 a.m. to dusk.
The courts may close Wednesday mornings for cleaning, and they close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Since April 10, 2025, the city has required quiet paddles at Lang Park. It sells discounted approved paddles at the Community & Susi Q Center, 380 Third Street, and its page links the list of approved models.
Indoor pickleball
The Community & Recreation Center has two indoor courts. The city’s pickleball page and its class catalog list individual drop-in play on Mondays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and the pickleball page limits it to 12 players. The Recreation Division’s main page prints the same Monday drop-in as 8:30 to 11 a.m., so confirm by calling the center at (949) 715-8620. On Wednesdays and Fridays the courts are bookable in two blocks, 8 to 10 a.m. and 10 a.m. to noon. The city says reservations are required and can be booked online a week in advance, and it keeps an email list for pickleball news. The center also runs the city’s classes and drop-in sports.
Rules the city posts
The pickleball page states these rules:
- No amplified sound, alcohol, pets, rollerblades, skateboards or bicycles on the courts.
- Open play is for all levels. Singles are not allowed if players are waiting. Waiting players use the paddle rack outside the courts to hold their turn.
- When one player is waiting, one player from the losing team leaves. With two waiting, the losing team leaves. With three, the losing team and one winner leave. With four or more, all four leave.
- Closed play lasts one hour on any court during hours that are not open play. Sign in on the board outside the courts with a start time and court number. If no one is waiting, you may extend until another group arrives.
- On Court 3 at Alta Laguna Park, the challenge court, a winning team that has won two games gives up spots when three or more players are waiting. The city’s page spells out who steps off.
- Private pickleball instruction must be authorized by the city.
Tennis
The facilities directory lists four tennis courts at Alta Laguna Park, two lighted courts at Moulton Meadows Park, two lighted courts at the Irvine Bowl Tennis Courts and a dual-line court at Lang Park. The city says its courts open at 7:30 a.m. and stay open until dusk unless they are lit. It also says recreational use of city parks is first come, first served. The pages read for this guide describe no reservation system or fee for the outdoor tennis courts, so call the Recreation Division before you plan a group session. The city’s class catalog has Tennis and Pickleball categories, and its summer camps in 2026 included a pickleball camp, covered in the camps and youth programs guide. For other city parks and their amenities, see the parks guide.
