The city’s Recreation Division provides programs and services for residents and visitors of all ages. It works out of two buildings: the Community & Susi Q Center at 380 Third Street and the Community & Recreation Center at 30516 South Coast Highway. Staff there help with class and camp registration, plus wedding, photo and alcohol permits, and answer questions about parks and recreation. Numbers for both centers are in the city services directory.
Classes and how to register
Classes run in seasonal sessions. The city’s Fall 2026 Activity Guide covers September through December, and registration for that session opened on July 31. The city says to sign up early, because it may cancel an activity if too few people enroll.
- Look through the Activity Guide, the city’s brochure of classes, and the Recreation Division’s monthly newsletter.
- Register in the city’s online class catalog at secure.rec1.com, or call the Community & Susi Q Center at (949) 464-6645.
- For children enrolled in the Laguna Beach Unified School District, the city says need-based scholarships are available through SchoolPower, part of the Family Resource Center.
If you teach, the city accepts proposals from contract instructors. It is not accepting applications in tennis, pickleball or soccer.
