The city presents two free outdoor concert series and a summer run of evening music on Forest Avenue, and a local nonprofit adds a one-day music festival in June. Together they cover most of the warm months: Friday evenings in May and September at Heisler Park, Sunday evenings in July and August at Bluebird Park, weekend evenings on Forest Avenue in summer, and Fête de la Musique on a day in June. The city posts each season’s lineup on its own pages, and as of October 2026 it had not posted 2027 schedules. This page uses the 2026 seasons as a guide to the usual pattern and gives a 2027 date only where an organizer has published one.

Music in the Park

Music in the Park is a free public concert series on Sunday evenings in July and August at Bluebird Park, in the Bluebird Canyon neighborhood. Concerts start at 5 p.m. The 2026 schedule had five Sundays, from July 19 to August 16. The 2025 schedule had seven, from July 6 to August 17, so the length of the season changes.

The city posts these rules for the series:

  • Set-up is not allowed before 3 p.m.
  • Dogs are not allowed at Bluebird Park.
  • Smoking, drones, and displaying or selling merchandise are not allowed.
  • Low-seating beach chairs are encouraged.

The city’s 2025 page named Cress Street and Bluebird Canyon Drive as the nearest trolley stop.

Sunset Serenades

Sunset Serenades is a free Friday-evening series at the Heisler Park Amphitheater, on the bluff along Cliff Drive. The city’s page says May and September. The fall 2026 list had four Fridays, from September 11 to October 2, with music from 5:30 p.m. to sunset. The 2025 list ran Fridays from May 9 to June 20, and those concerts started at 6:30 p.m. Months and start times have shifted between years, so read the city’s current list before you plan around one.

The city encourages low-back beach chairs. Its nearest trolley stop is at Cliff Drive and Jasmine Street. Heisler Park covers the park around the amphitheater, and the sunset spots guide lists other places to watch the light.

Music on Forest Avenue

In 2026 the city put live music on the promenade on Forest Avenue every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., from July 10 through August 30. Its schedule named a performer for each evening. The page lists no ticket or fee. Musicians who want to play the promenade apply to the city for a permit. The city funds the program with money from lodging establishments, as it does Music in the Park and Sunset Serenades.

Fête de la Musique

Laguna Beach Sister Cities presents Fête de la Musique, the local part of a worldwide music celebration held in more than 1,000 cities in 100 countries. The organizer has posted the 2027 event for Saturday, June 19, 2027. It runs from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with an opening ceremony at 1 p.m. at Main Beach. The organizer’s 2027 application form calls it the 20th annual. Its 2026 program put a stage at Main Beach and live music at 32 downtown locations from 1:30 to 4 p.m. See Main Beach for access and parking.

Performers apply through the organizer. The application form says performing artists volunteer their time and talent, with no compensation.

At city concerts

  • Guests 21 or older may drink alcohol only with a full meal.
  • The city asks everyone to bring reusable bags, bottles and utensils instead of disposable plastic.
  • The city encourages the free trolley as a way to avoid traffic and parking problems. Read getting around and the parking guide before you drive.

Other live music

The city’s concerts sit alongside ticketed music. The Laguna Beach Music Festival holds chamber concerts in February, and the Coast Film & Music Festival held evening concerts at the Irvine Bowl in 2025 and 2026. The performing arts guide covers the year-round presenters.
