Laguna Beach Music Festival

The Laguna Beach Music Festival is a chamber music festival held each February. Laguna Beach Live! and the Philharmonic Society of Orange County present it together. The festival’s own site says its first edition was in 2003, with the pianist Claude Frank, and its About page lists a named artistic director for each year, such as Stefan Jackiw in 2026. The 24th festival ran February 5 to 7, 2026. The 25th runs February 2 to 7, 2027, and its site describes it as a homecoming of past artistic directors and collaborators.

The 2027 schedule

The organizer lists these events:

• Fall Salon, Sunday, November 15, 2026, 3 to 5 p.m. An afternoon concert at a private home in Laguna Beach, in support of the 25th festival. Tickets are $200 as of October 2026, and the RSVP deadline is November 9, 2026.
• Festival Prelude, Wednesday, February 3, 2027, 5 to 7 p.m. An evening at the Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Drive, with a performance by festival artists, hors d’oeuvres and wine. Tickets are $225 as of October 2026.
• Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Thursday, February 4, 7:30 p.m. The quartet opens the festival at the Laguna Playhouse. The festival says the group was its artistic director in 2015.
• Opening Night, Friday, February 5, 7:30 p.m. A program of chamber works at the Playhouse, with a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m.
• Mendelssohn Octet, Saturday, February 6, 7:30 p.m. Mendelssohn’s String Octet anchors the evening.
• Festival Finale, Sunday, February 7, 3 p.m. The closing concert, with works by Tchaikovsky, Schumann and Ravel.

The festival’s site says more details on meet-the-artist events and other engagement programs will come closer to the date.

The festival’s pages for the Playhouse concerts show no price as of October 2026. The Buy Tickets buttons on the Opening Night and finale pages open the Laguna Playhouse ticketing site. The Philharmonic Society’s festival page also lists its box office at (949) 553-2422, open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Prelude and the Fall Salon sell through separate links on the festival’s pages. Check each event page for the current price before you buy, because the organizer had not posted Playhouse prices when this page was reviewed. Getting to the Playhouse

The Playhouse sits at 606 Laguna Canyon Road, on the edge of downtown. Its parking page points to Lot 11 at 551 Forest Avenue and Lot 10 at 725 Laguna Canyon Road, both across the street, plus meters on Laguna Canyon Road. It says meters are strictly enforced. If those fill, it suggests Lot 16 at 1900 Laguna Canyon Road, which charges $5 for the day and has a free trolley on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The prelude is at the museum on Cliff Drive, so plan a separate parking stop for that evening. The Playhouse concerts on February 4 to 6 start at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday finale at 3 p.m., which matters for the trolley: the Playhouse’s page lists the free trolley only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Beyond the concerts

The festival says it builds its program around more than concerts. Its About page lists meet-the-artist events, salons, open rehearsals and discussions, and it says local schoolchildren hear live music in the schools during festival week.
