What the Fine Art Show is
The Festival of Arts is a nonprofit juried art show on the grounds at 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Its Fine Art Show features more than 100 Orange County artists, who show and sell paintings, glass, ceramics, photography and other media directly to visitors. If an artist is not at the booth, the gift shop near the front entrance has an art sales consultant who can help with a purchase.
The same grounds hold the Pageant of the Masters, the Festival’s evening stage show. The two share a summer, and a Pageant ticket includes the Fine Art Show.
2027 dates and hours
The Festival lists the 2027 Fine Art Show from June 28 to August 27, 2027, closed July 4 and 5. Hours are 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The 2026 season ran July 7 to September 3, so the opening date moves from year to year.
The Festival has not posted its 2027 music schedule. Its music page says the schedule is to be announced and invites guests to join its mailing list.
Admission
As of October 2026, the Festival’s Art Show page lists these prices:
- Monday to Thursday: general admission $10, students and seniors (65 and over) $7, children 6 to 12 $5.
- Friday to Sunday: general admission $15, students and seniors $11, children 6 to 12 $5.
- Free: children 5 and under, military, Festival members and Laguna Beach residents. Residents show valid ID at the box office.
The Art Show page does not label these as 2027 prices, so confirm at the box office or on the Festival’s site before you go.
What to do inside
Docents lead free art tours with admission. The 2026 listing gave 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekends. Exhibitors also give demonstrations through the day in oils, watercolors, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and mixed media. Music plays on a concert stage on select days. The Festival allows picnics: tables and chairs stand on the grounds, and you can bring food and drink in one cooler or basket up to 14 by 14 by 14 inches that fits under your seat.
Rules
- Photographing artwork is not allowed without the artist’s permission.
- Bags and coolers may be searched on entry.
- No personal chairs or tables, and no sitting on the ground.
- No smoking or vaping.
- Service animals are allowed. Emotional support and comfort animals are not.
Getting there and parking
The Festival says it has no parking at its facility, only a few drop-off spots at the box office. Paid public lots and meters sit within walking distance, and Laguna Beach Transit runs a free trolley to the grounds. Because three festivals run at once on Laguna Canyon Road, the Festival advises arriving early. The grounds are about a five-minute walk from downtown. See the parking guide for city lots and the getting around guide for the trolley.
A short history
The Festival of Arts staged its first show in August 1932 on El Paseo near Hotel Laguna and incorporated in September 1934. The Festival had no permanent site for its first years, and in 1941 Irvine Bowl Recreation Park was dedicated as the permanent home of the Festival and the Pageant. The Festival says 2027 marks its 95th anniversary.
More summer art
Art-A-Fair and the Sawdust Art Festival run on the same road. The summer festivals guide compares all four events, and the Art-A-Fair and Sawdust pages cover each one. For year-round galleries, see art galleries. The July and August guides cover weather and daylight.
