What is posted for Halloween 2026
Halloween is Saturday, October 31, 2026. The city and the Chamber of Commerce list no citywide Halloween festival. The programs below are the ones with a posted source as of October 28, and each is described the way its organizer describes it.
Library, October 29. The Laguna Beach Library, at 363 Glenneyre Street, lists Spooky Month: Haunted “Gingerbread” House Decorating on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The listing says to create haunted houses “while supplies last” and gives the branch’s phone number, (949) 497-1733. The library tags the program for audiences from birth to age 11 and for all ages. On Saturday, October 31, the branch is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and lists Lego Club from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., a program with no Halloween theme. See the library guide for cards and services.
City preschool celebration. The city’s Recreation Division has a Preschool Trick or Treat page. It invites Laguna Beach preschool-aged children to the Community & Susi Q Center, at 380 Third Street, for a Halloween celebration. Costumes are encouraged but not required. The page gives no date or time, so call Recreation at (949) 464-6645 before you plan around it.
Laguna Playhouse. The Playhouse, at 606 Laguna Canyon Road, is staging The 39 Steps from October 27 to November 22, 2026. It describes the show as a comedy-thriller from the world of Alfred Hitchcock. The Playhouse’s listing does not mention Halloween. The performing arts guide covers the other stages in town.
Not posted. The Chamber of Commerce calendar lists no other event on October 31. The city’s news page lists no Halloween notice, street closure or new rule. Sawdust is closed until Winter Fantasy opens on November 20, 2026.
Getting around on October 31
The city’s holiday transit table has no Halloween row, and the city’s posted off-season schedule covers October 31, 2026. The Coastal Route runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., every 20 to 30 minutes, and Laguna Local runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Canyon Route runs from Lot 16 on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with $5 parking. The getting around guide explains the routes. Parking enforcement runs from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the parking guide lists the lots.
City Hall is closed Friday, October 30, according to the city’s 2026 calendar, and reopens on Monday. For city-wide alerts by text, the city’s alerts page says to text 92651 to 888-777.
City rules to know
The city has posted no new Halloween restrictions, so the standing beach rules apply. Alcohol is not allowed on city beaches, even for guests 21 and older. Smoking and fires are not allowed. Beaches north of Aliso Creek close from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. The city also prohibits balloons on public areas such as streets, parks and beaches, so balloons are not allowed as decorations in those places. The beach rules guide has the full list.
The first week of November
Several events follow Halloween. First Thursdays Art Walk falls on Thursday, November 5, 2026, and the Festival of Arts invites the public to an artist reception that night at its foaSOUTH gallery at 1006 S. Coast Highway. The Art Walk page explains the monthly evening. Sawdust Winter Fantasy opens November 20, and the Thanksgiving page covers the holiday after that. The October guide covers weather and daylight for the month.
