Patriots Day Parade

What the parade is

The Patriots Day Parade is a downtown Laguna Beach parade held in March. The City of Laguna Beach says it has taken place every year since 1967, and the parade’s own site calls the 2027 edition the 60th annual. The Patriots Day Parade is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, according to its site, and a small group of volunteers runs it, according to the city.

The city describes the entries as ranging from civic and veterans’ organizations to school bands, floats, vintage automobiles and novelty groups. The parade also honors citizens who have served the community and those who served the nation in time of war or national emergency.

2027 date, time and theme

The organizer lists the 2027 parade for Saturday, March 13, 2027, at 11 a.m. downtown. Its theme is “Laguna Beach 100”.

Separately, the city’s Centennial page lists a year-long celebration of the city’s 100th, starting in January 2027, with a date of June 29, 2027 and “more information to come”. The centennial page does not mention the parade. The city posts updates on its centennial page.

The organizer has posted a lineup for the 2026 parade, the 59th. No lineup is posted for 2027 yet, so who will march in 2027 is not posted.

Route and street closures

The city describes the route this way: the parade begins at Park Avenue and Legion Street, goes down Park Avenue, turns right on Glenneyre Street, turns right on Forest Avenue and ends just past City Hall. To make room for the parade and for people on foot, the city closes portions of these streets to vehicles before and during the event:

• Park Avenue

The city’s page was written around the 2026 parade, and the organizer has not posted a 2027 route. Check both sites in February and early March for a change before you plan a drive.

The farmers market

The city’s parade page, written for the 2026 parade, says the weekly farmers market is cancelled on parade day and resumes the following Saturday. The 2027 parade also falls on a Saturday, so check the city’s page for the 2027 notice.

Entering or sponsoring

The organizer’s 2027 deadline for entries and program ads is January 15, 2027. The city’s page says to contact the parade’s volunteer organizer to enter a group or organization, or to place an ad in the parade booklet, and lists a phone number and email for that. The parade site lists an email contact for entries and ad deadlines. The organizer also invites sponsors and says the Patriots Day Parade Association welcomes new committee members and volunteers for parade day, per the city.

Getting there and parking

Downtown streets close, so plan to walk the last blocks. The parking guide lists the city’s lots, and the getting around guide covers the trolleys. The city’s off-season trolley schedule, September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027, lists the free Coastal Route on Coast Highway on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., every 20 to 30 minutes. It lists the Canyon Route from Lot 16, which costs $5 to park, on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The city’s schedule does not say whether parade day changes those hours.
